If you don't remember this commercial from 1979 I'm sure
you've at least seen it parodied or the remake that Polamalu did.
The news is that Mean Joe actually won two Clio awards for this commerical. The Clio are pretty much the Emmy's for commericals. One was for best Male performance, and one was for Best ad of the year. Appearantly Mean Joe couldn't make it to the ceremony back in 1979 so Coke accepted the awards on his behalf.
The problem is that they didn't get around to giving them to him til now!

A simple story with strong moral themes and imagination by the truckloads! I feel like I read the book as a kid, but I honestly don't remember. Either way I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
There are some parts that I thought were genuinely a bit scary. So if you're taking your nephews/nieces beware. They're short and should be manageable enough for a kid.
Good family fun. Reminds you of some insecurity you had as a child, almost like your own personal trip down the memory lane of your childhood…in a good way.
